So my husband is home for a week or so (he currently works in Norway, lucky so and so with all that scandi-style inspiration everywhere!) and we are in major need of sorting our bedroom.
I have a love/hate relationship with our bedroom, it has got a beautiful bay window which lets loads of light in and it’s currently painted in Dulux’s Pitch Black, which i love in the winter, but currently feels too heavy in the spring light. With all older houses we have inherited, from number five’s previous owner, the world’s ugliest mirrored wardrobes & as new home owners we have a collection of miss-match furniture from friends and family, which is useful but needs to become more cohesive…
Mr W will be building a new wardrobe for us which means i have to de-clutter (you will see, that I don’t do minimalism!) but will allow us to have tonnes of useful storage and we can remove some of the miss-matched drawers we have dotted around the room.
We have a really small budget, as we have an extension coming up (more on that soon!) so May’s makeover will be a lick of paint, new curtains, some different cushion covers (if i can get the H&M home box past my husband without him knowing! oops, he reads this!) and a few accessory changes. I have collected a number of little bits and bobs that i think will fit in perfectly, so don’t think anything new needs to be purchased, but saying that…!
So here’s my inspiration… (images from Pinterest)
Blush. Grey. Concrete. Light coloured wood. Copper. Scandi feels.
(A Pinterest dream basically)
I am not yet set on wall colour and need to test some of the colours out with the light in the room. I’m not sure whether the blush will be washed out by the light coming into the room or whether the greys will seem too dark, but as long as it includes some of these aspects I’ll be happy.
Now to plan the wardrobe space.
