West Elm haulin’

On Friday, I had a super start to the bank holiday weekend when I picked up my West Elm order from the post office.

For those of you who don’t know who West Elm are, they are a Brooklyn based home interiors brand, who have the most fantastic pieces to help style up your home. It’s not what I would call high trend (go to H&M Home for that!) but is all about those perfect investment pieces that make a house your home. Their furniture is just gorgeous; think dark wood, mid-century style legs, marble tops, copper handles and metallic elements.  Alas, need to save up before I purchase my first piece of West Elm furniture, but their oddities and kitchen wares are always what I have my heart set on when I open up the site in my browser!

For those of you that follow me on Instagram, or read my weekend post; you will know I am obsessed with the little brass armadillo I picked up from their store when Mr W and I went to London to celebrate our anniversary. I’ve had no end of lovely comments about him, so wanted to treat number five to a few more gorgeous pieces. So here’s what I got…

When it comes to indoor plants I am a little obsessed, and don’t think there is a room in number five without some sort of green addition; whether I am that great at looking after them is another thing! As soon as I spotted this hedgehog planter on West Elm I knew I had to add him to the basket! So cute isn’t he and looks fab with the succulent addition.

I’ve had my eye on these golden salad servers for ever (wow, only a serious interior addict would say such a thing!) Now the sun is shining (a little!) and we’ve had a couple of bbq’s I thought it was the perfect opportunity to purchase. I’m sure I will never get bored of these, whether against crisp white crockery or the white and blue of the salad bowl! They have summer vibes written all over them!

Whilst we are in the kitchen, I also purchased this fab book end to keep the cookery books in place! I love marble and stripes so this is a match made in book end heaven! I had been using a pestle and mortar, but every time I needed to use it to grind those herbs the books would come crashing down, so useful as well as pretty! And see I don’t just keep my oddities for the lounge, here are some hedgehog measuring cups from Anthropologie (didn’t realise I had a thing for hedgehogs until typing up this post!) and my fab Sing container is from scandi brand Studio Arhoj. I would have a room full of their stuff if I could!

If you read my weekend post, I did give you all a sneak peak of this super find which I have added to the growing menagerie at number five! He’s brass, he’s cute and he’s a llama; I mean, what more do you want! (and check out my cactus with the flower crown too! Brilliant!)

Finally, I spotted this fab object d’art and knew it would fit perfectly in the lounge. Here it is sitting pretty on the coffee table, with my sheepie from Cowboy Kate (who i met in internet life on Instagram!) in the background… but more of that later in the week!
