I hope all you gorgeous readers had a wonderful weekend, I know the sun wasn’t shining for us all but hope it was lovely none the less. For today’s post thought I’d let you wonderful folk have a peak at some of my new additions to Number Five of which I am currently head over heels with!
I have been after a bar cart FOREVER! Ever since I moved into Number Five, I have been trying to find the perfect one to fit into our home! Since all the vintage ones that I had my heart set on were either in America (damn import charges!) or had the most ridiculous price tag, I decide to check out the high street and after a lot of trawling found this brass and marble beauty on Oliver Bonas.
As you may have seen, my lounge has dark navy blue walls and loads of brass accents so thought this would fit in perfectly with the room, and I’m so glad that it is! I have loved styling this new piece up too; I’ve added the West Elm Orb to the bar cart to bring the room together, with a beautiful bunch of peonies and a few bottles of our favourite tipples! Yes, this is an investment piece; it wasn’t cheap, but feel it will look perfect in any social space in our home, and is a real talking point!
Looking fab isn’t it? With those beautiful Vera Wang for Wedgwood champagne saucers (thank you A!) that bottle of Moet waiting to be popped – it’s a bar cart Jay Gatsby would be proud of!!
In the top picture of the bar cart you may have noticed something fluffy in the fore ground, and that my wonderful readers is the best purchase from an amazing Instagram chum, Cowboy Kate. It’s a rare breed sheepskin and has just added some much needed texture to the home! Here is my sheepie in my summer house and looking so scandi wouldn’t you agree?
Because of ALL the rain we’ve been having I have moved the sheepie inside and it’s currently looking fab on my velvet turquoise love seat… which is strategically placed next to the gin (!) and lets me really mix those textures up!
Last night my lovely mother in law and husband made the hallway curtain from the fab Just Fabric Longleat print that I purchased a couple of week’s ago. I am totally rubbish at anything sewing / knitting wise; I have no hand idea coordination when it comes to needles and threads! So luckily I have married into a family that can! 🙂
Not my best picture I admit (it is so hard to take pictures of curtains!) but I hope you can see the wonderful effect it’s having! Just a few more oddities to add on to the IKEA picture ledge and this part of the hallway will be looking fab and adding a little privacy from those neighbours too!
Finally, and possibly the cutest new addition to Number Five, is this gorgeous little Kangaroo match strike from Jonathan Adler. Now if you haven’t heard of Jonathan Adler that’s ok, but I will not be held responsible for any credit card statements that come in after i’ve alerted you to this UH.MAZ.ING brand! It’s quirky, kitsch, brassy and a whole lot of fun – a brand right up my street!
That little pouch for the match sticks just makes me smile every time! I’m in love! After alerting a friend at work to said brand, she purchased the mohawk match strike, and that is currently sitting wonderful on her mantlepiece adding a little fun to her home too!
